The third BlueJ / Greenfoot Day will be held on 4 March 2009, in conjunction with SIGCSE 2009. The "day" is actually a half-day event on the afternoon of that day.

NetBeans IDE BlueJ Plugin released           (4 Sep 2008)

In collaboration with the NetBeans team, we have now released the new BlueJ Plugin for NetBeans 6.1. This repleaces the old (5.5-based) NetBeans BlueJ Edition, and provides a smoother transition for BlueJ users into the extensive facilities of NetBeans.

Using this Plugin, you can develop, debug and run BlueJ projects simultaneously in BlueJ and NetBeans, getting the best of both worlds.

Tutorials, lab notes and download details are here.

Heard about Greenfoot?

Have you heard about Greenfoot?

If not - surf over to the Greenfoot web site and have a look. Greenfoot is a new development environment, built by the BlueJ team.

Greenfoot is great for building graphical interactive applications (such as games and simulations) very easily and quickly. In Java. And it's free.

Greenfoot is aimed at bringing programming into high schools and university entry courses, but it can really do much more than that. Have a look.
